Discipline Plan
This is the discipline plan implemented at my student teaching site in Chesterfield. It is a school wide plan.
Responsive Classroom
Students told to 'take time to think' are being asked to find the chair away from the rest of the class to sit and personally think about what rule they broke while in class.
The second time they are sent over students are asked to sit and wait for a teacher to come and talk to them about what they did and what they can do to improve. Only then can the student rejoin the class.
The third time, students are then told to sit out for the reminder of the class period. The loose their ability to participate in the class.
If it becomes a reoccurring issue with one student, a conference with the principal of the school is made and parents may then become involved.
